GEOURL
There is a very nice project of Joshua Schachter who ran the original prototype and Ask Bjørn Hansen who runs the latest version.
Basicaly, it creates geographical information to your web content. If you have website, article, blog, simply any web content that refers
to some place you can define the place and describe it as geographical coordinates.
All we need to know is:
- Latitude and longitude, separated by a comma, for example: 47.98481,-71.42124
- Name of the Place, for example: O'Connell Street, Dublin, Ireland, Europe
All we need to do is:
- add a special meta tags to you web page
- register your web page at www.geourl.org (It's free)
Follow these steps:
-
You need to find your desired place (Latitude and longitude).
- go to http://www.google.com/maps and search, for example: O'Connell Street, Dublin, Ireland, Europe

-
Click on Link and you get URL google URL of your place, for example:
http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=O'Connell+Street,+Dublin,+Ireland,+Europe&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&ll=53.348092,-6.252873
- We need Latitude, longitude and as you see it's the ll parameter 53.348092,-6.252873

-
-
Go to Module Adminstration and update the module parameters

-
Check metatags on your website

-
Register you site at www.geourl.org
